Offered the chance of a lifetime, the Mighty Tigers Marching Band of Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach, Florida almost missed their opportunity to perform during the pregame and halftime show for the 2007 Sugar Bowl. With three days to collect $80,000, local businesses and community leaders led fundraising endeavors to ensure the Mighty Tigers would be able to fulfill their dream of showcasing their musical talent on national television. AshBritt Environmental, who served as the primary debris removal company in Louisiana and Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina, gladly donated (funds) that contributed to the total $60,000 collected. On January 3, 2007, all 200 members of the Mighty Tigers Marching Band made Broward County proud when they performed at the Superdome in New Orleans for millions of Sugar Bowl spectators across the nation to see.
