The Society of American Military Engineers South Florida Post held their annual Holiday Social on 18 December 2014 at Coast Guard Base Miami Beach in the Gator Den to celebrate the holiday season and a great year with the post. The South Florida Post supported the “Toys for Tots” program and each attendee brought an unwrapped toy with an approximate $25 value as admission to the Holiday Social. Gifts were for kids of all ages and were collected by the U.S. Marines. AshBritt, one of the Post’s sustaining members, was also an event sponsor. The sponsorship benefited the South Florida Post’s Scholarship and Education Fund which provides annual scholarships to both high school seniors and college students who are enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), and Architecture. The Post’s Scholarship and Education Fund also supports high school students to attend SAME’s Engineering and Construction Camps for the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines.
